Meet Taff, one of life’s true characters, and an integral part of Wagtail’s brilliant community. Taff’s story is a testament to how a storage unit can become a haven for creativity and productivity. We’re so proud of so much that our clients achieve inside the gates of Wagtail Storage, and the work Taff does to bring forgotten, neglected or lost motorbikes back to life is a great example of Wagtail at its best.
Taff’s journey with Wagtail Storage began when he was introduced to us by a friend who already used a unit. Taff saw an opportunity to find something to do after grappling with health challenges, and what started as a simple idea to fill his time has gradually evolved into a full-fledged passion for motorcycle restoration.
From his first unit, Taff has expanded to fill three units at Wagtail, where he nurtures his love for restoring motorcycles. His passion goes beyond a typical hobby – Taff saves bikes that have been left neglected, sometimes for more than two decades and instead of breaking them down, he commits himself to the intricate process of restoring them to their former glory. And sometimes much more than that!
Taff got this Suzuki back on the road after more than 20 years.
More than anything, we love Taff’s approach to restoration. He stands against the tide of discarding history, choosing to rescue bikes from the scrapheap and breathing new life into them, avoiding breaking them wherever possible. Bikes that have been dormant for 19 or even 20 years find a second chance with Taff’s skillful hands. The end results are incredible and often dramatic, with bikes either completely restored, or transformed into something even more unique and impressive.
For his part, Taff cherishes the environment Wagtail Storage provides. For him, it’s not just a storage space; it’s a retreat where he can immerse himself in his passion. Nestled away from the bustle of everyday life, the peaceful and secure surroundings allow Taff to focus on his craft without distractions. The security of the facility ensures his motorcycles and tools are well-protected, and the extended opening hours help make sure he can work on his bikes whenever suits him best.
Taff’s magnetic personality and vibrant presence have made him a well known and equally well liked figure within the Wagtail Storage community. His dedication to his craft, combined with his warm nature, has left a lasting impact on both the space and the people who cross his path.
